The Path to Peace is an art exhibit celebrating Martin
Luther King Junior’s legacy of building strong communities through peaceful
action.
Children and
teens within a 50 mile radius of the Virginia Tech campus were invited to
create artworks which reflected on the following quote by Dr. King:
“If I cannot do great things, I can
do small things in a great way.”
The artwork is laid out in a continuous line on the gallery walls,
showing how each step in the “path to peace" is created through our individual peaceful
acts.
Opening on Tuesday January 19th at 12 p.m. and running through February 27, 2016 the gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday from 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. We are closed on Mondays.
There will be a reception for the artists on Thursday January 21, 2016 from 5 -7 p.m. which is free and open to the public. Accoustic music by Eric Lanoue will accompany the event.
