Testing 1, 2, 3

Welcome to our "maiden blog" for the Perspective Gallery.

Our current exhibition "Altared Space" is in its final two weeks, so if you haven't had a chance to come by and check it out, do so before the 13th of August. The artists or "Altared Spacers" as called by the group's founding member, Mary Tartaro, all live in the New River Valley or Floyd, Virginia. The show has a high level of what I call "Appalachian Eclecticism," work based on the artist's connection to the natural and spiritual environment.

There is everything from Deb Wildman's dreamtime images of animal totems (see above Wild Dog and Black Bird), to Charlie Brouwer's Backpack for the Journey (also above), which he actually wore once at an exhibition.

We are open Tuesday through Thursday from Noon until 5. Friday Noon until 7 and Saturday Noon until 5. Closed on Sunday and Monday. Keep posted for the next installment which includes our upcoming fall schedule and a preview of Mindy and Baldwin North's exhibit, Love Planet!
