In Absentia Randy Simmons Charcoal on Paper 60" x 51"
Just a note to folks here. Randy Simmons, who posted the previous couple of blogs on this site, is an invited, guest blogger, to the Perspective Gallery Blog. He was asked to blog (and it has been his first experience as a blogger) since he is the current (until 9 p.m. tonight) exhibiting artist here at the VT Perspective Gallery in Squires Student Center in beautiful downtown Blacksburg. When Randy was in Blacksburg at the beginning of his exhibit, he lectured to Alan Weinstein's Creativity and Aesthetics Classes, as well as provided a gallery talk during the opening reception, which was well attended by Jennifer Hand's drawing classes, and my own painting classes (both Jennifer and I teach in the School of Visual Arts at VT, I am guest artist/adjunct faculty this semester). I thought it would be nice for Randy to continue his dialogue about "life as an artist" since that was what he discussed in his talks. His previous posts reflect that objective.

Awesome, well, as a suggestion, I'd end your guest blog entries with a blurb that says you're guest blogging, right?!
